Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 cup butter melted
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions 

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place half of the bread cubes in the dish and top with blueberries. Add the remaining bread cubes on top.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread mixture. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup.
