Ingredients

  • 1 lb ziti pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 lb ground beef or sausage optional
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large pot, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the minced garlic, dried basil, and dried oregano. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Add the marinara sauce to the meat mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
