- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage optional
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- to taste salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large pot, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Add the minced garlic, dried basil, and dried oregano. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the marinara sauce to the meat mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
In a large bowl, combine the cooked ziti, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
