Ingredients

  • 1 cup Butter unsalted
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon Water
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips
  • ½ cup Chopped nuts optional

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and water. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  3. 3. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread it out evenly.
  4. 4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let them melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
  5. 5. Sprinkle chopped nuts over the melted chocolate, if using.
  6. 6. Let the toffee cool completely, then break it into pieces.
