Split Pea Soup Recipe
A hearty and comforting soup made with split peas, vegetables, and ham.

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb dried split peas
- 1 ham bone or hock
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 cups water
- 2 tsps salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Rinse the split peas under cold water.
In a large pot, combine all the ingredients.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 90 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove the ham bone, chop any meat, and return it to the pot.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
