Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and green bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. Add the rice and cook, stirring constantly, until the rice is lightly browned.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, chicken broth, salt, cumin, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  7. Fluff with a fork and serve.
