Gravy
- 1 lb Breakfast sausage
- ¼ cup All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Milk
- to taste Salt and black pepper
Biscuits
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Cold butter cut into small pieces
- ¾ cup Milk
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt for the biscuits. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until just combined. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, knead briefly, and roll out to ½ inch thickness. Cut into biscuits and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Do not drain the fat. Sprinkle the flour over the sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serve the sausage gravy over the hot biscuits.
