A traditional Cornish pasty recipe, perfect for a hearty meal.

Pastry
- 500 g plain flour
- 250 g butter cold and diced
- 1 pinch salt
- 6 tablespoon cold water or as needed
Filling
- 300 g beef skirt diced
- 200 g potatoes diced
- 150 g swede diced
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 pinch salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg beaten, for glazing
Preheat oven to 220°C (428°F).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add water gradually to form a dough. Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes.
Roll out the pastry and cut into circles. Mix beef, potatoes, swede, and onion in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
Place filling on one half of each pastry circle. Fold over and crimp the edges to seal. Brush with beaten egg.
Place pasties on a baking tray and bake for 50 minutes or until golden brown.
