Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice rinsed
  • 1 cup Mixed vegetables chopped (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • to taste Salt
  • 3 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro chopped

Instructions 

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add sliced onions, minced garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
  4. Add mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add rinsed basmati rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add water and bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes or until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  9. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
