Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 500 g Spinach washed and chopped
  • 200 g Mustard Greens washed and chopped
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat ghee in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. 2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. 3. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add chopped spinach and mustard greens. Stir well.
  5. 5. Add turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  6. 6. Pour in water, cover, and let it cook for 20 minutes on low heat.
  7. 7. Once cooked, blend the mixture to a coarse paste using a blender.
  8. 8. Return the blended saag to the pot and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  9. 9. Serve hot with roti or rice.
