Feijoada Brazilian Black Bean Stew
A traditional Brazilian stew made with black beans, pork, and beef.

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups black beans soaked overnight
- 1 lb pork shoulder cut into chunks
- 1 lb beef chuck cut into chunks
- 1 piece smoked sausage sliced
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 pieces bay leaves
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
2. Add the pork shoulder, beef chuck, and smoked sausage to the pot. Cook until browned on all sides.
3. Drain and rinse the soaked black beans. Add them to the pot along with the beef broth and bay leaves.
4. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 2 hours, or until the beans and meat are tender.
5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot with rice and orange slices.
