Cuban Ropa Vieja Recipe
A classic Cuban dish made with shredded beef, bell peppers, and tomatoes.

Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs Flank Steak cut into 3-inch pieces
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 1 large Green Bell Pepper sliced
- 1 large Red Bell Pepper sliced
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 cup Tomato Sauce
- 1 cup Beef Broth
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- to taste Salt and Pepper
Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the flank steak and brown on all sides.
Remove the steak and set aside.
In the same pot, add the onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until softened.
Stir in the tomato sauce, beef broth, cumin, and oregano.
Return the steak to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, until the meat is tender and can be shredded easily.
Shred the meat using two forks and mix it back into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
