Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Nutmeg to taste

Instructions 

  1. Heat the milk in a saucepan until just about to boil.
  2. In another saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the flour to the melted butter and stir constantly for about 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add the hot milk to the butter-flour mixture, whisking constantly until smooth.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Season with salt and nutmeg to taste.
